| | | Kurt Cobain wanted to collaborate with Iggy Pop Nirvana Kurt Cobain wanted to collaborate with Iggy Pop Legend missed Nirvana man's call 1 hour ago Nirvana's Kurt Cobain wanted to collaborate with Iggy Pop.
According to Pop, the late singer left an answerphone message for him, but then was impossible to make contact with. Pop said: "He called me up once at two in the morning. But this was when I was old enough to start going to bed at 9.30. When I'm not gigging I'm sensible so I didn't take his call.
"It was cool because it was a great musician at this peak and he's going 'Iggy this is Kurt Cobain, let's get in the studio man.' So he leaves me a number for the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. Pop told PR Insider: "Then every time I would call it was like, 'Mr Cobain is under the bed,' or 'We haven't heard from Mr Cobain in three days'."

| | | It's sad a junky like Iggy doesn't realize the guy likely only thought it was a good idea while fucked up one time and was too embarrassed to admit it afterwards. |

| | | I think it would've have been a great collaboration. Iggy and Kurt could've really made some interesting tunes together but I guess we'll never know. |

| | | Kurt wrote the song 'Talk To Me' in mind for Iggy Pop. It was played live a few times and sounds pretty solo Iggyish. I think it would have been not to shabby had Pop recorded his version and layed down vocals in similar fashion to the Idiot record. Courtney supposedly gave Iggy a copy of the song.
I guess people don't know but Iggy actually tried to help Kurt out of his heroin addiction. As did Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. |

However Burroughs did his reading apart from Kurt doing his guitar track and then it was all put together after. Though Kurt did meet him at his home and they hung out. Burroughs actually commented that when Kurt left, he sensed something was not right about him. Kurt also wanted Burroughs to be the hanging Jesus with the Santa hat in the HSB video, but Burroughs didn't want to do it.
Kurt also played drums on the last track of the Melvins Houdini record.
He also was in the first incarnation of the band Earth, with his buddy Dylan Carlson. I think Kurt actually plays on a track or two on the first record.
