Hilary Duff Receives Death Threats At MuchMusic

While Hilary Duff may be a refreshing breath of sanity in comparison with the likes of Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, the young singer/actress sure attracts some crazies.

Duff was being interviewed by Leah Miller and promoting her new Dignity album at MuchMusic on Tuesday when an unidentified man in the large crowd gathered outside the studio allegedly started yelling death threats at the 19-year-old. A witness reported that several police officers then tackled the guy.

"The cops slammed his face into the pavement," photographer Todd Gillis said in a CanWest News Service article. "He was bleeding."

A police spokesperson said there was no report of an arrest being made.

Duff, who will replace Ben Mulroney for a night and co-host CTV's eTalk with Tanya Kim on Thursday, was previously plagued by a stalker in California. Maksim Myaskovsky broke a restraining order that Duff had filed against him and was arrested for stalking and making criminal threats in November. He pleaded no contest to the charges in January and was sentenced to 117 days behind bars and five years probation.

While we're on the topic of crazies, Duff's former boyfriend, Good Charlotte's Joel Madden, remains with his current flame, Nicole Richie.
