Dresden Dolls vocalist Amanda Palmer is recording her debut solo album in Nashville with Ben Folds. No release date has been penciled in for the as-yet-untitled project.
"The songs range from intimate ballads to faster and harder Amanda-assaults-the-piano thrillers," Palmer says in a statement. "We've been adding everything from organs and Leslie cabinets to strings, horns and tympani. The final result should be Biblical."
Dresden Dolls will be back on the road in June for the True Colors tour, which also features Cyndi Lauper, Erasure and Debbie Harry, among others. A video will be shot next month for "Shores of California," the third single from the Dolls' 2006 album "Yes, Virginia."

But I mean they've only had 2 albums and already there's a solo project but that's the way it seems with all the bands these days. |
