| | | Songs you didn't want to be singles I was just wondering what are some of the songs that when you heard were going to be singles, your heart kind of sunk a little. Maybe cause it had a special meaning and you didn't want it to get too commercialized and lose that meaning.
Some of mine:
Coma White by Marilyn Manson
Everyday is Exactly the Same by Nine Inch Nails
Breathe by Breaking Benjamin |

| | | i like singles, even tho i don't own any. i don't care about commercialization. or anyone else that likes "my" band. i like the unit of the song more than the album. and i'd prefer to own a good song by itself than an album full of blah that you have to skip over or just not feel invested in. this thread should be, 'Songs you WISH were singles'
*edit - actually i do own a single for 'Get Up'. not that anyone cares

| | | The Trick is To Keep Breathing.
Lucky for me it ended up only being released as a single overseas so it didn't bother me in the end. I'm sure there are others, but that's the first one that pops into my head. |

Although in retrospect I think Garbage is a little girls band anyway, so they don't seem like such bad single choices anymore.
As a big fan of the first album, I hated to see Garbage go in that direction at the time though. |

| | | I personally think it was a total travesty At My Most Beautiful was picked as the last single of REM's Up when they could have released Hope, the 4th track I think, which is an amazing song.

| | | coming home by dallas green. i loved the song, and then was kinda sad when it became his second single. i dunno, it sorta looses something when it's played and everybody else has heard it on the radio and such. |

| | | Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt".
Hearing so many people humming it/singing it could be a good thing in that maybe it did manage to "reach" those people, but I somehow selfishly, and quite possibly childishly, believe that they would be the very same people humming/singing whatever the single of the moment was.
Oh well. |
