Snoop whose real name is
Calvin Broadus, was arrested in October after police found drugs and a firearm in his car, and upon searching his home, discovered a second gun.
Broadus was convicted of a felony in 1990 for possession of drugs for sale, which means he is now being charged as felon in possession of a firearm which could mean up to four years in prison.
The rapper was recently denied entry to the UK resulting in the cancellation of a joint tour with
P. Diddy. He was also arrested last month in
Stockholm for suspected drugs use.
He is due in court on Wednesday.
