I'm really excited about this, according to their official site the album will be released on June 12th.
Go there to hear a 15 second clip of the possible first single "Sick, Sick, Sick".
Here's the track list, notice the Desert Sessions song "Make It Wit Chu".
01 Turnin on the Screw
02 Sick, Sick, Sick
03 I'm Designer
04 Into the Hollows
05 Misfit Love
06 Battery Acid
07 Make It Wit Chu
08 3's & 7's
09 Suture Up Your Future
10 River in the Road
11 Run Pig Run
According to several press releases about the album, there will be collaborations with Trent Reznor, Julian Casablancas and as always Mark Lanegan.
Here's some You Tubes of them in the studio:
They have already announced a couple of European festival dates for this summer!
June 14th Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, London
June 15th Wireless Festival in Harewood House, Leeds
June 18th Alkatrazz in Milan
June 22th Hurricane Festival in Scheessel
June 24th Southside Festival in Neuhausen
June 24th Rock A Field in Luxembourg
June 26th Hove Festival in Norway
June 28th Rock Werchter in Belgium
June 30th Eurockeennes in Belfort
July 1st Furia Sound in Paris
July 8th T In The Park in Glasgow
And they'll be in Amsterdam on July 3rd for a small club show.
And so will I.
I like them ~ thanks for the info. Only thing is ~ when they opened up for RHPC ~ they were wayyyy too loud ~ so loud I could hardly make out the songs.
although somehow I don't see Julian Casablancas working together with Qotsa..
will they perform in Paradiso?
and do you think this album will be a whole lotta different than their previous one?
Yep, on July 3rd in Paradiso.
Will you be there?
Tickets go on sale June 2nd just in case.
I do think this album will be very different from "Lullabies", just like "Songs For The Deaf" was very different from "Rated R".
They never make 2 very simular albums, which I really like about them.
I am so excited and am v happy for you seeing them at the Paradiso!
Thanks, I'm kinda a QOTSA .
I've seen hem once on the "Lullabies" tour when they played the Lowlands Festival, and it was great, by far the best sound crew too.
I'm SO excited!
I really like this song, the changes in rythm, the darker robotic like sound.....
Can't wait for the album, I'm getting really excited.
Just too bad I didn't win one of them DVDs.
The official site is now updated with a player playing "3's & 7's".
I really like this, it sounds more like the first album.
And the July 3rd Dutch concert date is postponed.
It's very different from Lullabies, especially "3's & 7's" sounds a lot like the first self titled album.
You could always try the song Era Vulgaris out for size.
was their last album any good compared to the rest of them?
i keep seeing it really cheap, but have enough cd's i never listen to as it is.
and the fact shirley manson and brody dalle sing on it sickens me a little. possibly irrationally, since you supposedly can't even hear them.
but like if somebody just takes a shit, and then washes their hands, you're still a little hesitant about sucking their fingers.
