Sonic Youth On Gilmore Girls

Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon, along with their daughter Coco, will appear in the season finale of the WB show Gilmore Girls. The episode, in which the three will perform an acoustic version of Sonic Youth's "What a Waste," is being taped today, April 7, and will air May 7. "What a Waste" is a track off of the forthcoming Youth album, Rather Ripped, out June 13. The CD version of the album will be released by Geffen Records, while the vinyl will be released on Sonic Youth's own Goofin' Records label.

Thurston Moore has also been picked to curate the All Tomorrow's Parties festival, titled "The Nightmare Before Christmas," in Somerset, England. So far only Sonic Youth and Iggy And The Stooges are confirmed to play this December 8-10 event. That appearance will be preceeded by a few Sonic Youth dates in July opening for Pearl Jam and appearances at the Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza festivals.

I love Gilmore Girls! Can't wait to see this...but will have to. It'll take ages until it aires here in germany!

And it's great that Sonic Youth are added "Library Of Congress' National Recording Registry". They deserve it.

yuck, i hate Gilmore Girls, it's such a bad show...but it's cool that SY are going to be on it.
