Arctic Monkeys
It looks like the bigwigs behind Toronto's Virgin Music Festival didn't think The Smashing Pumpkins, Bjork and The Killers would draw enough of a crowd. So British post-punk louts Arctic Monkeys, Metric and London-by-way-of-Sri-Lanka expat M.I.A. have been added to the event, which will be held on Sept. 8 and 9 on the Toronto Islands.

The lineup will be further rounded out by Mute Math, who will join the Monkeys, M.I.A., Bjork, Interpol, Amy Winehouse and Scottish dreamboat Paolo Nutini on the Saturday of the festival. The Pumpkins and The Killers will be joined on day two by new additions Metric and Peter, Bjorn & John, as well as Jamie T. and Tokyo Police Club.

Organizers promise that the final lineup will feature at least 35 acts on three stages over the weekend, which makes the $125 charge for a two-day pass seem a little less daunting. (The ferry to the Islands will set you back an extra six bucks each day.) The festival will also feature an interactive "V-Village" featuring food vendors, gift shops, tattoo artists and massage services.
