Korn, Evanescence Top Family Values Tour Bill

Korn, Evanescence, Hellyeah Top Family Values Tour Bill

Festival's fifth installment launches July 20 in St. Louis; also features Atreyu, Flyleaf, Trivium.

SANTA MONICA, California — In what is certainly a first, Korn singer Jonathan Davis broke the news to fans in a virtual hot tub Monday (March 26) that the Family Values Tour will return this summer with Evanescence co-headlining.
Atreyu, Flyleaf, Trivium and Hellyeah, the new band featuring Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul Abbott and members of Mudvayne and Nothingface (see "Vinnie Paul Returns To Make 'Hellacious' Magic With Hellyeah"), will also make the trek, which kicks off July 20 in St. Louis.
Davis, Korn guitarist Munky, Vinnie and Atreyu singer Alex Varkatzas announced the tour on VirtualMTV.com in what was billed as the F--- the Press Press Conference, a virtual world open to fans and set up specifically to discuss the Family Values Tour.
"It's gonna rock," Davis typed from a computer in an MTV conference room packed with the musicians and their managers.
As the guys meandered around the virtual Korn lodge, gaming connoisseur Davis advised the others on how to execute a variety of actions, from jumping to kissing (although when he tried to smooch Varkatzas, the singer "played coy," as the action states).
While Varkatzas repeatedly changed his shirt, Munky flirted with some girls ("I need to find out her age so I don't get sent to virtual jail," he deadpanned) and Vinnie talked up his new band to some longtime supporters.
Korn fans hammered Davis for album news ("It's going great, we're tracking vocals right now," he revealed) and poured on the compliments ("Thanks for the awesomeness!"), all while the singer continually dropped plugs for the tour.
"Y'all are gonna hear some new sh-- for sure," he typed.
The Family Values Tour was first launched back in 1998 and featured Korn, Orgy, Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube and Rammstein. Limp Bizkit assumed the headlining spot on the tour's second installment in 1999, along with Korn, Primus, Staind, Method Man and Redman, the Crystal Method, Mobb Deep and Filter. Two years later, the festival returned for a third helping, this time with Stone Temple Pilots, Linkin Park, Staind, Static-X and Deadsy.
The tour went dormant for five years and returned for a 2006 run with Korn, the Deftones, Stone Sour, Flyleaf, Dir en Grey, 10 Years, Deadsy, Bury Your Dead, Bullets and Octane, and Walls of Jericho (see "Korn Resurrect Family Values Tour With Deftones, Stone Sour").

Korn & Amy's songs on their unplug are so terrible. When they kept playing the ad for it for like 2 weeks, I had to put my t.v. on mute everytime. It was like nails on a chalkboard.
