| | | Getting To Know You Mix Thread The first theme for our group effort mix thread is "getting to know you." Post songs or mixes that tell others a little bit about your personality. What songs make you think " I relate to this" or "this could have been written about me, etc."
HAVE FUN!

| | Folk Implosion - Jenny's Theme
a tune from the Kids soundtrack, just this short 2 minute instrumental song that is all calm and then a threashy guitar slash.
to me this tune just always makes me think of feeling confused and fucked up. There are so many longer tunes with vocals to also capture that feeling, but for me these quick simple tunes like Jenny's Theme with no lyrics can capture the same emotion perfectly. check it out http://download.yousendit.com/73242BB12EDD82C7 |

| | Well H.G., you mentioned mixes...so I gotta do it:
This is a short DJ mix by someone named Sub Focus. When I hear this I get an instant desire to go out to a club playing this shit (techno infused drum and bass), preferably with a few thousand people (some events are like that) and basically........dance my fucking ass off.
Certain music gets people energized. Music that just raises their energy level. When I hear stuff like this I immedately picture hearing one of these tunes at a party, and watching this huge swarm of people go nuts.
SubFocus - Live on the Breezeblock on BBC, 2005 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=223UZ50G
(I dont love all the tunes in the mix....but everything from 18:00 on just makes me jumpy and excited)
People might hear this and think its crap, people might hear it and picture how dancing your ass off to stuff like this might be fun as hell. Well, Sub Focus played tonight in Toronto, and the visions I had while listening to this over and over...came true, 1600 people all having a great fucking night in the best club in Canada while many of the tunes in this mix blasted out over the speakers.
