Shellac Announce Actual Tour

Running contrary to their usual modus operandi of playing a precious few scattered dates a year, Shellac will kick off their second full-blown tour in less than a year on May 16. The almost one-month long tour of Europe includes their appearance at ATP vs the Fans on May 19.

To gear up for the shows in Europe, the band will play two April shows in their hometown of Chicago. One is a benefit for Cal Robbins at the Subterranean, and the other is at the Congress Theater with Steve Albini's new buddies, the Stooges.

There is still no new word on Shellac's next record other than that it exists. Maybe.

It's been seven years since Shellac last released anything (2000's much acclaimed long-player 1000 Hurts), and now the band are back with their next album.
Excellent Italian Greyhound is the group's fourth LP to date, which Touch and Go will be releasing on June 5th. Nine tracks feature and band member Steve Albini produced the songs.
Several of the tracks have been aired before during Shellac live shows, such as Genuine Lullabelle, Steady As She Goes, Be Prepared and Boycott.
