are a lot of those just cds that people have put together themselves andthen sold? i havent seen a lot of them with the official releases?

The covers are pretty, pity its not actually worth anything though unless you are some die hard collector. Bring your collection to wombwashedcooch and they'll probably cream themselves over it and get yourself some 1000+ kudos points.
