Followers aim to get 'Life Is A Pigsty' in the Top 40

Morrissey fans have been campaigning to get his track 'Life Is A Pigsty' into the charts.

The track is taken from 'Ringleader Of The Tormentors' album, which was released last year.

Fans are asked to sign up to the Getmozinthecharts.vze.com and download the track between February 12-18.

On a Morrissey fansite the poster says: "For this campaign to work we need everyone to get involved so please do all you can to spread the word."

Instead of wasting the energy, these idiots should find more meaningful things to value.

Even if their campaign is successful (which it probably won't be) the track will reach a very low level on the Top 40, remain there for one week before falling off completely, and continue to be noticed only by the people who got it there in the first place.

If they like the song enough to waste all this time, that should be good enough for them. Getting the song into the Top 40 isn't going to make it any better.

Although it would be funny if they were successful, and because of their efforts Morrissey became known to the masses as "that one-hit wonder from 2007" for the rest of his miserable career.

As much as I love the man, his fans irk me. Not quite as much as die-hard Courtney fans. Though I'd say both sides suffer from different forms of insanity. I should know.

Life is a Pigsty is brilliant live. On the record? Well, it falls short, I think.
