It's all shit. You only want to know for the novelty value of Russian rock music, like the uni cooze who make a point of talking about Japanese pop music every chance they get.

Russian rock music is mostly an inferior version of hair metal. It's a country full of people who complacently earn degrees in astro physics only to settle for jobs at McDonald's and wait for the next tyrant to come along and tell them what to do. No innovation or subversion if that's what you're looking for. Just lots and lots of Bon Jovi bootlegs.

this doesn't count as rock, it's actually techno of some variety. it's fucking weird. it's a group called dvar, but their oldest releases are the best. you'll likely have to download them from soulseek or something though, but here's an unofficial site which has some clips:

based on the interview, they're kinda gimmicky, but their music is bizarre enough to captivate me.
