Joseph Arthur New Album On The Way
by Staff | 01.09.2007

Less than a year after the release of his critically acclaimed fifth album,
Nuclear Daydream,
Joseph Arthur is set to release a new album.
Let's Just Be will arrive on April 17th and is the first album recorded with his new band
The Lonely Astronauts.
The Lonely Astronauts's lineup consists of Kraig Jarret Johnson on keyboard and guitars (
Golden Smog), Jennifer Turner on guitar (
Natalie Merchant), Greg Wieczorek on drums (
The Twilight Singers) and Sibyl Buck on bass. The album was recorded in one month in Los Angeles immediately following the conclusion of a seven week tour.
Arthur has said that the album was recorded using only 16 tracks with no reverb, and that quite a few of the songs were co-writes. One of the tracks, "Lonely Astronaut", clocks in at over twenty minutes. There is reportedly so much material from the session that another cd will be released later in 2007.
Arthur garned attention in 2005 when his song "In the Sun" was covered by
Michael Stipe and
Chris Martin for a Hurricane Katrina Relief program.
