Courtney Love cleared She wins a legal bid to clear her name
Courtney Love Courtney Love had some good news this week after a judge finally brought to an end her endless court appearances over drugs charges between 2004-2005.
The rocker wept in court yesterday, reports the Associated Press, when as the judge chose to wipe her slate clean after successfully completing a number of rehabilitation programs - and proving herself to be clean of drugs.
Los Angeles Superior Court judge Rand Rubin voided Love's remaining probation orders from 2004, despite objections by lawyers representing a woman who was attacked by Love two years ago.
In a statement to celebrity news website TMZ.com after Monday's ruling Love's lawyer Howard Weitzman said the singer had "turned her life around."
"
Courtney stepped up to the plate, turned her life around and is on the road to releasing her new record and hopefully getting hired to act in films," Weitzman said.
The 42-year-old, who lost her husband Kurt Cobain in 1994, had pleaded no contest in 2005 to assault charges, and to possessing Vicodin and Oxycontin without a valid prescription, as well as a count of being under the influence of cocaine.
