| | | lol @ no one caring.
i bet she pays NBC or whoever to lie about the ratings.
just like Warner Bros. lies about her album sales. |

| | | yawn. i was turned around half the show, it sounded atrocious.
her voice is either synthesized beyond recognition, she's totally carried by her backup singers way more than ever before, and the jaw-droppingly BAD OVERDUBS that weren't even in sync with her regular vocal and kept cutting in and out. cheap.
"cloud" or whatever his name is is such a fucking fag, but an amazing dancer. the focus almost the entire show on him was so ridiculous. the part where the dancers "confess" was disgusting. madonna barely even dances anymore, just kind of jerks her gnarled hands and humps the air and rolls around on the floor.
it's like madonna's lost nearly all her charisma and is sliding through the rest of her career on whatever bullshit about 'saving the world' she thinks people wanna hear about now. her insipid fans who pay $500 a seat so she gives them 'something to think about', which equals making them feel like they're better than everyone else who isn't stupid enough to pay money to see some arthritic mess cavort on stage and hump boomboxes. she is so fucking cutting edge. i'm sure all the bullshit she spouts about 'walking the walk' is inspiring, at most, to some facial-wasted meth head drag queens. that's exactly what she looks and sounds like now. gag.

| | | I thought it was a good Madonna show. Her songs always sound somewhat dead to me live anyway, so the supposed bad audio didn't bother me. Ray of Light is the only one that really bored me.
As for her having lost her charisma, I think she's more interesting to watch now than she was on her first couple of tours, where she pretty much blended in with everything else onstage. Just watching her move about is interesting.
And her dancers are amazing. The shit they do totally puts that Blond Ambition bitch-pack she toured with to shame. |

i always find it funny when people comment about her voice. when has she EVER sounded perfect live? she hasnt. with her, its more about the entire show. no one puts on a "show" like her.
that braodcast was completely butchered though. and believe me, its not like it was in person. you always lose that extra little something when you watch it on tv..... of course.
there were a lot of songs missing too. oh well. hopefully a dvd sees the light of day. |

| | | it was really heavy on the confessions album material.what part with the dancers confessing did i miss something did they say something at the end when it said now confess or something like that for i thought it was over and turned the channel.i thought she sounded good especially during the first half of it.the first half of the show the confessions songs sounded better then they did on the album.
the i love new york, ray of light, music, wheres the party bit was where they didnt sound as good as on cd but it was more of the changing of the arrangement.
the actual show too it was extremey well put together and choreographed.
the best part -most moving part was live to tell with the orphaned kids from aids it brought tears to my eyes.even without showing the crucifixion was moving and inspiring.(i know back on to that i mean honestly watch the christian right still throw a fit over what was shown i mean a ton of people were crucified for crimes ages ago but the crown of thorns was given to jesus alone in mockery of him claiming to be gods son.
when it ended i watched on pbs walking the bible i think it was the 3rd part for i think it was on for 2 hrs before i tuned in then after that went off they had this thing on with religious leaders dissing (christians)dissing falwell,robertson,lahaye,etc)-it was interesting. |

| | | i watched the repeat last night on muchmoremusic when i got home from cat power.
i was suprised that the show was pretty good. i know i bag all over confessions, i think the album blows but she pulled most of it off live very well.
it's fun to watch her play guitar on songs like New York and Ray of Light. she's gotten pretty good! her voice wasn't too bad either.
the bitch has a killer body for a woman her age.

| | | Like Madonna has EVER been obsessed with charts that she'd tell anyone to lie about ratings.
I thought it was quite good, but I hate that they cut Paradise, which Madonna played acoustic beautifully, and Lucky Star. I mean, what the fuck? |

andycherry | let me guess, you're into morrissey? funny how you've watched half of the show and couldn't come up with one single positve thing to say about it. this is a pop show, the woman is 48, has always sung horrible live but still puts up a great show and still has people talking about her.
if you have such an exciting life, why don't you just go out and do something actually worth while with your time instead of wasting it watching half the show and complaining about it on a messageboard to complete strangers? |

i do like the smiths, but i much prefer kylie over morrissey.
i never for once said i had an exciting life. if i did i wouldn't be responding to yr juvenile, petty assumptions about my taste and personality.
for the record, i was a huge madonna fan (since 1984) and still follow her career but i do not have anything good to say about the concert. what is funny about that? i thought it sucked. i think the girlie show sucks, too. i'm just disappointed in her performance. i would never say madonna sounds great live (have you ever seen the HBO broadcast of Blonde Ambition? Christ!!). i hated the SOUND of the concert more than i hated her voice. i think it was produced very poorly, her voice came in and out of 'focus' and there was some badly done post-overdubbing utilized.
i also didn't like the editing, the erratic cuts, the overused slow-mo.
something nice? i liked her performance of like a virgin. the first time i saw a poor quality video of it, i hated it. last night i thought it sounded alright. and live to tell didn't sound that bad. i can't comment on how it looked cuz there were babies everywhere.
so, um, fuck off.

| | | well I haven't seen the show, I'll have to wait till december 7 when HBO Latin America is going to air it UNCUT THANK GOODNESS.
I heard an mp3 of the live performance of Let It Will Be, and frankly I was appalled and embarassed for her. I will never be able to comprehend the mystery of the voice. I think it's safe to say that Madonna is no Milli Vanilli. I mean after all these years and all these records, I don't think she would've been able to pull it off if what you hear on the records is not her, I mean she can't make a whole career out of protools and automatic tuning or whatever. I mean that has got to be her voice. Shep Pettibone said that most of the vocals of Erotica where like the first time vocals, so her voice can't be that bad.
On the other hand, she almost always sucks live. It's like she just can't control her voice. And it makes no sense because the songs are written for her range, yet she can't pull it off. Yes, there's lots of heavy dancing in her shows, but Kylie Minogue can pull it off. I remember on one of her biographies, when she was going to record the soundtrack for Evita, it was to be live and she couldn't do it with the orquest and she stormed out of the studio, crying, lol.
I have to go, I'll continue my post later. |

| | | the second best part of the show is the forbidden love part and second most moving was holding back the tears and have been thinking of it all last nigth and today.
when she does forbidden love there are two shirtless male dancers and one has the star (shield)of david painted on and the other the islamic star and crescent. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
