| | | a few people have told me that she talks a lot and seems a bit jittery.
this is what i was told right after she sobered up, so maybe she's a bit different. i don't think i am really any help, but have an awesome time. i am so fucking jealous. |

she played brilliantly, didn't have any freak-outs, and was generally really sweet and humble and beautiful.
she was a bit nervous at first, and she definitely acts a little funny. but this was one of the best shows ive been to in a while.
you'll have a great time, im sure!! |

| | | the show was great, she has such a wonderful voice. the memphis band played too many songs without her. they opened the show with 2 songs then in the middle of the show played another. she didn't seem nervous, got pissy when the sound was off for a few songs and ranted to the technical guys to fix it.
the venue choice sucked as many of the crowd kept having to "shuuush" people who were too busy drinking and chatting. i wish it had been a seated venue where people generally sit and listen, instead of sucking back overpriced beer and discussing the workday.

| | i went to that show too. i thought she was great although, yeah, the sound wasn't too good but oh well. she has an incredible voice even live. i didn't like how she played so many songs off the greatest though and i'm not sure is was worth the forty bucks (probably not... ) but still a good show. |

| | | well, her albums and songs are progressively more structured. if you want slightly more polished stuff go for the last two albums. the stuff before that is more folky and lo-fi. something middle of the road would probably be moon pix. |

Destroyer, I'd say start with Moon Pix. I guess it depends on the sort of music you're into as to where would be the best point to start, but just don't start with the newest one, The Greatest; it's a bit boring. |

i'd start out with 'you are free' or 'moon pix'. they were the first i heard, and i don't know, i think her best. or most consistent
i saw her live april 2005. i take it she wasn't clean and sober at that point? either way, it was transfixing. she didn't talk to the crowd too much, and when she did i don't think i caught much of it. |

| | | haha i thought she was better when she wore less makeup and was more withdrawn/mysterious on stage. her voice is too happy now and well normal.
haha my opinion sucks. |

| | Cat Power to play MoMa in New York
Her performance will accompany the 'Sleepwalkers' exhibition
Cat Power is set to play an intimate performance at the Museum of Modern Art in New York .
The singer, whose real name isChan Marshall, will perform at a special reception hosted by artist Doug Aiken (the man behind the 'Sleepwalkers' exhibition which is currently being screened on the exterior walls of buildings in the vicinity of MoMa) and PopRally, a programme of events at MoMa created for young New Yorkers.
As previously reported, Marshall is one of the characters in 'Sleepwalkers', which follows five New Yorkers as they go about their daily lives.
Guests who attend will also received a unique commissioned poster, created especially for the event by Chicago artist Mat Daly.
The event takes place at the Museum of Modern Art on February 2. http://www.nme.com/news/cat-power/25996
