The Futureheads have cut the ties to their British label.

The act announced that it had parted ways with 679 Recordings, the Warner Bros. imprint that released its previous two albums in the United Kindom. In North America, the band's most recent effort, this year's News and Tributes , was released by Vagrant Records.

Front man Barry Hyde told BBC 6 that the move's anything but a blow to the band, saying he's "over the moon" after parting ways with the label.

when i met them barry said they werent too happy with either of their record labels. i think he was talking about the north american one, but he could have been talking about the uk one. he called the label "fucking idiots" anyway.

Hopefully they wont get another deal here so we wont have to suffer any more travesties like that Kate Bush cover.

i like that kate bush cover. its really good live. maybe it helps that im not a kate bush fan. i dont hate her, but i havent found love for her yet either.
