My uncle passed away, and I've inherited a large chuck on his portfolio. I was surprised to find he held the rights to Fiona Apple's song "I Know". And it's mine now. I guess if anybody wants to use it in a movie or TV show they have to go through me. I think I'm going to be protective of it though. I can afford to at this point.
This is the only song by anybody he owned. I'd really be interested in finding out how it came into his possession since he had nothing to do with the music industry as far as I know.
Weird. Three years ago I was obsessed with that song. I was working construction in July of 03 or something and it was in my head the entire time.
I'm also the proud new owner of an apartment complex in Van Nuys. Should I be proud? I've never been to Van Nuys. Whatever, all I'm concerned about is the ledger. |

I'd rather close it down than see that happen.
I also have another artist in mind, who I'd like to offer it to. They aren't as big a draw as Courtney was back in 2000, but would definately attract smarter people. Closer to what this place was like years ago.
I'm hoping some current members would stay. The stupid people would probably leave, and that's fine. Most of all though I want some new blood around here.
Now I have to see if Brooke is interested in selling. I'd like to keep her on full-time, like in the Hole.com days. |
