will will become famous soon enough
pretty good, i just wish she was better at compiling. the earlier sessions have better songs/performances in my opinion, "this wicked tongue" (one of my all-time fave pj songs) notwithstanding

most of the peel sessions she recorded are great stuff and you should definitely own them in any format you can find. the official cd release was a great idea until you realize this is not gonna be a complete compilation of all the peel session she ever did. like will said, some of the best pj harvey songs aren't included in the cd. for example in 1993 she recorded 3 unreleased songs for peel: naked cousin, claudine the inflatable one and primed and ticking. i'm not sure if they are b-sides but maybe the fact that they are not songs from pj harvey albums have something to do with their peel performance not being chosen for the cd.

i myself cant decide if i should buy this peel session cd. even though i already have most of them from bootlegs and really good radio recordings, i'd still like to hear/own the better quality master recordings. but at the same time i dont wanna pay $15 for an album that doesnt have my favorite songs on there.

i dont know, maybe i'll put it on my holiday wish list or something.

I picked it up today and I really liked it. I had read someone saying that the songs were just like the versions on the CD, but I don't think that's entirely true. They are close, but they sound really exciting and really live.

I'm happy to own it.

When I saw Peej at the New Yorker festival, someone asked her about all the b-sides and rediculous amount of unreleased songs she has. She stated that she was thinking of releasing a box set of everything. Maybe the Peel songs that aren't on this cd would be included in the box set (if it ever does come to fruition).

I still need the Peel sessions. I'll probably pick it up next week when I buy the new Joanna Newsom and Wowie Zowie re-issue.
