you wish. Evita is a pretty decent movie, great production, good acting by Madonna for a change, Jonahtan Pryce amazing as usual and a very hunky Antonio Banderas, what more do you want?? IT IS a good movie either way you look at it and I know it's hard to accept as a Courtney tard that Madonna has at least one perfect movie whereas Larry Flynt is so mediocre and that's the way with all Porky films.
The only reason why Madonna acted well in that was because it was one big music video for her. For fuck's sakes. If Cabaret can make Liza look competent then Evita can surely make Madonna look half decent on screen for once.

The poncy Presbyterian prep school around the corner from my old flat put on Starlight Express as its school musical a couple of years ago. I still haven't quite recovered from missing that.

I'm listening to the Immaculate Collection(probably the best compilation cd ever) and it made me wonder if Madonna can still come up with pop masterpieces.
Pretty much every single one of Madonna's singles until 2000 is a masterpiece. Incredibly impressive for someone with no musical talent, but that's another matter.
The point is that, do you think she still has it?? I mean is she still capable of coming up with something like crazy for you, or vogue or papa don't preach??
I don't think so. Her last great singles were the Music singles. Music was Holiday for the 2000's and Don't Tell Me was Open Your Heart for the 2000's, and what it feels like for a girl was a softer Human Nature maybe??
But I guess that was the end. Everything since then has been forgettable.
And The Immaculate Collection isn't flawless. I know big acts can assume the new tracks on their Greatest Hits will be hits, but I prefer All Hits And Stuff. Shoehorn Who's That Girl, True Blue and Angel into the album, you cow. Don't be ashamed.

See, this is the shit that pisses me off. Madonna can get by because she's Madonna- this huge mega superstar. But in reality there really isn't much talent there. She can't sing live to save her life, and most of her singles today are completely forgettable. And if I remember correctly, her album artwork is shit too.
I liked some of her 80s stuff but I like her 90s stuff more. Bedtime Story, Human Nature and a few others. That's when she still had integrity. Now she's just another lame artist who uses Timbaland to jump album sales. Yawn.
Has anyone seen the video for jump? It makes me cringe to see an aged lady trying to be down with the par-cor kids by crouching on monkey bars. It's just not right.
