A good way for Garbage to take advantage of me [merged frustration]

Instead of releasing the b-side album they've talked about releasing since the days when all their b-sides could potentially fit on a single disc,,,

Re-release each of their albums as those fancy two disc deals. In those nice glossy cardboard fold out cases with acetate slip covers. I'm so incredibly materialistic that this excites me more than actual new music.

The second disc will include all b-sides for that album, select remixes (some were really good like that version of Milk) and possibly some live selections from each given era. Considering all the time they spent fucking around in the studio, there's also sure to be stuff nobody has heard before.

I also love fancy liner notes, when some music writer is commisioned to interview the band and give an in depth account of the making of each record.
Pet Shop Boys re-released albums include them discussing every single song in the liner notes.

I don't need a b-side album either.
I'd prefer a proper live cd or DVD.
I think this is the sentiment of alot of Garbage fans.

Well I am looking forward to Shirley's solo work. I just want to hear her voice. Same with Courtney. I need to hear these women's voices again!

Re-getting into Garbage makes me want to kill myself

Last year I tried to force myself to re-get into Garbage, because it was ten years since the first one.

I hate 2005. It paid such shit tribute to 1995. 1995 being my favorite year.

Forcing my interest in Garbage didn't work. It all sounded dead.

This year it's happened a little more organically. I've been listening to Version 2.0 quite a bit.

I forgot I didn't get into Garbage in 1995. It was actually 1997 and my interest in them peaked in the spring of 1999.

I was a much more optimistic and decent person in 1998. In retrospect my kindness and the way I tried were my favorite things about me back then.

Now I'm a boring cunt and always tired.

Instead of giving up on life in late 1999, I wish I could have foreseen meeting my favorite person ever.
Maybe I would have tried to do my best, so I could have a chance to be with him.

My three favorite Garbage songs are Queer, Push It and Milk. Those three do a nice job at representing everything that's good about Garbage.

Version 2.0 makes me so sad and reminds me the future is now in the past. When the album came out the future was still where it should be.

I love Milk but their first record to me sounds kind of boring. I love Version 2.0 and I think it's their best album

"The Trick is to Keep Breathing" is an amazing song.
As are "Number One Crush", and "You Look So Fine".

Yeah.

I think most of the lyrics to the first album were already written, and Shirley just slutted them up a little and added a verse here and there.

For instance, Butch Vig wrote "Queer" about a character in a book. So the narrative part is his, and Shirley just added the "hey boy take a look at me/let me dirty up your mind" and "you can touch me if you want" parts.

Butch said Shirley wrote 90% of the lyrics on Version 2.0

Beautifulgarbage is all her, and it shows.

The last album is probably all Shirley too. Most of the songs have at least a few clues that they're Shirley songs.
