The bonus tracks...

When I buy an album, I don't really need the bonus tracks... It happens to me often that when I really want an album, the only available CD is the expanded one.

Am I the only one who don't care about the bonus tracks? I feel like I just need the songs that were on the original album.

I understand that when you are a real fan of the artist, the bonus tracks are interesting... The bonus tracks are just more music... But these damn bonus tracks should be released on a compilation or something like that (but in some cases, the compilation would probably not sell very well).

I really like Bauhaus, but I rarely listen to the bonus tracks on Mask.

Acid Bath by Alien Sex Fiend isn't really a good album and I really don't need the bonus tracks on it.

The Ungovernable Force by Conflict is almost a concept album... I don't want the bonus tracks. The same things goes for The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars (but it's a concept album).

I really don't need the bonus tracks on the Ramones' first album. I don't care about the demo version of Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue. Maybe it's because I'm not a real fan? Well, I just like music and I don't want to be a Ramones' fanatic knowing all their lyrics by heart and knowing all the early versions of some of their most appreciated songs.

I just bought an expanded version of Parallel Lines. Strangely, I like the bonus tracks... I kinda like the stripped version of Heart of Glass...

I'd prefer to not have bonus tracks on my albums... But on a separate CD I'd be glad. There is a bonus CD coming with The Teaches of Peaches and with Suicide. That's ok.

Sorry for this thread. I needed to say that I DON'T NEED BONUS TRACKS.

(Sorry if I overused the word "need"... I need more English vocabulary)

i have that, i really love it.

i dunno, i don't mind bonus tracks, if the cd is only a little more expensive than the usual one or the same price i'll normally buy the one with bonus tracks, just cuz im getting more music i guess.i don't like remixes though.

i believe thats the original version, prior to its discoification.

but what is the issue? cost or excess?

It's not the cost.

Example : I just can't find the original Porcupine by Echo & the Bunnymen. So I bought the Remastered and Expanded version for 23$. I'm sure the price would have been the same if it would not have been the expanded version.

I just don't need bonus tracks, they bore me. For me, an album is art (concept album or not). I just want the album as it was originally released and sometimes it's hard to find. I bought Entertainment by Gang Of Four on Amazon and I didn't choose the bonus tracks version... But I received the bonus tracks version.

I'll choose the one that contains no bonus tracks even if it's the same price lol. But usually, the record stores only sell the one with bonus tracks.

probably cuz most people prefer the ones with bonus tracks, the word 'bonus' makes you think you're getting something extra for your money
