| | | Lucinda Williams She deserves a thread here. We've had some before but they tend to trail off, so I'll try it again.
I finalllllly got into her latest album World Without Tears. I mean I HATED it for a while and then Those Three Days caught me on shuffle and I kept playing the record over and over and now I finally get it.
For those who haven't listened to Lucinda before, shes an alternative, country, blues, folk style artist.
Here are some song recomendations.... Happy Woman Blues

| | | I like her music occasionally but she's not somebody I could listen to on a regular basis.
I sold Essense and kept Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. Because it got more praise.
I think I made a mistake though. "Blue" and "Lonely Girls" are good songs.
But I'll add to "Right in Time" and "Too Cool To Be Forgotten" to the list of recommended songs from Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. |

Actually now that I've finally warmed to World Without Tears, Essence is my least favorite of hers.

| | | lucinda williams - little honey lucinda is my favourite artist of all time.
her new album is out next month.
a sampler of 5 of the songs on the album, including lead single "real love" is available at: Lost Highway Records: Lucinda Williams
i am very impressed, although don't like elvis costellos vocals on jailhouse tears. i can't stop listening to if wishes were horses, i think it is one of her best tracks. think the album will be great. i loved "west" but it took a while to grow on me. anyway, enjoy.
if anyone is looking to get into lucinda, i recommend probably starting with car wheels on a gravel road, or her s/t album, although all of her albums are fantastic. |

| | I LOVED Little Rock Star, that song was great. I like Tears of Joy and If Wishes Were Horses, they both were good songs.
Real Love was a little to "pop" for me, I don't know. It didn't really didn't do much for me, and Jailhouse Tears was kind of eh, but I'm sure this album is good . |

| | | I know this is an old thread, but I've just rediscovered her through that newer album West, she's so good. I really do love her. Anyone else looking forward to her new album? | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
