Lucinda Williams

She deserves a thread here. We've had some before but they tend to trail off, so I'll try it again.

I finalllllly got into her latest album World Without Tears. I mean I HATED it for a while and then Those Three Days caught me on shuffle and I kept playing the record over and over and now I finally get it.

For those who haven't listened to Lucinda before, shes an alternative, country, blues, folk style artist.

Here are some song recomendations....

Happy Woman Blues
Maria
Lafayette

Lucinda Williams
The Night's Too Long
Like A Rose
Changed The Locks
Side Of The Road

Sweet Old World
Pineola
Something About What Happens When We Talk
Sweet Old World

Car Wheels On A Gravel Road
Metal Firecracker
Greenville (w. Emmylou Harris)
Drunken Angel
Jackson

Essence
Lonely Girls
Blue
Out Of Touch

World Without Tears
Those Three Days
Minneapolis
Sweet Side

Cover songs
You Don't Have Very Far To Go (Merle Haggard)
Angels Laid Him Away (???)
Cold Cold Heart (Hank Williams)

cletusIII will become famous soon enough
I like her music occasionally but she's not somebody I could listen to on a regular basis.

I sold Essense and kept Car Wheels on a Gravel Road. Because it got more praise.
I think I made a mistake though. "Blue" and "Lonely Girls" are good songs.

But I'll add to "Right in Time" and "Too Cool To Be Forgotten" to the list of recommended songs from Car Wheels on a Gravel Road.

Really? I HATE that record, she sounds so bad on it. Her Live From Austin Texas DVD is a far better live album. It's mostly Car Wheels songs and a fe ST and Sweet Old World tracks.

Car Wheels is better than Essence, but I wouldn't have sold Essence. Actually now that I've finally warmed to World Without Tears, Essence is my least favorite of hers.

Lucinda Williams
Car Wheels On A Gravel Road
World Without Tears
Sweet Old World
Happy Woman Blues
Essence

(I dont really count Ramblin)
