So there's a chance I'll get to interview Courtney for this magazine I write for...it's nowhere near definite but I want to start preparing NOW. I want to do a really good job and ask her about some of the more questionable moves she's made (like why America's Sweetheart was so horribly overproduced) without pissing her off. I also don't want to faint. And I don't want to leave anything important out. Suggestions would be appreciated!

You will piss her off. Accept, and make sure that if you piss her off at least you don't make her think you're an idiot. Or she'll be in one of her "all loved up" interview moods, and who could guess why? Just make sure you plan a safe escape route!
I'm also insanely jealous. A big big part of me would still just about kill to get to meet Courtney.

Well everyone always asks about the people who hate her, so she's prepped for that.

Personally, if I had the chance I'd ask her how she feels about so many of her longtime fans becoming disillutioned with her because of her behavior in the past few years. It was a job being her fan, having to constantly defend her. I feel that she really embarrassed her fans.

But that is my own personal issue, if this is something that could make your career and you're in need of something to boost your portfolio then tread carefully. Then again though, Courtney isn't exactly respected by the mainstream press so even if it is a disaster you aren't going to be blackballed (although your editor might be pissed).

I say treat her with respect, but ask the tough questions and don't let her intimidate you.

I can answer that for her,

Ask her about the album tracklisting, possible release date, and possible plans for a tour. I need a new info.

So I have been sitting here thinking "If I could ask Clove just one question what would it be?" Fucked if I know that!

Obviously news of the new album and book (and hopefully a tour) are top of the list but presumably that is why you are interviewing her - she has a product to sell as it were.

Perhaps you could ask about her plans to act? Is she doing the Lovelace bio? I guess she just needs to let her fans know what her plans are in general.

Perhaps the comment by MSuperhero above is a good question to ask - but think about how you pose it. Her fans are very loyal and appreciate rockstar behaviour from time to time and really miss the old days of being able to communicate with her via a website. Will she be having a website where she can post updates and answer fans questions. She is not very accessible to her fanbase right now.

Her fans do a hell of a lot of sticking up for her even still, and without us I doubt many people would hear her music at all.

Move on with the America's Sweetheart. Don't ask about that. It's done and over with and we all know the reason why it sucked.

But DO ask what she's planning on doing with the leftover songs from America's Sweetheart and the women's prison album.

I want to know about the album. I want to know what it will sound like and when it will be out. I want to know the definite title and I want her to list some song titles from it (the ones we don't already know).

And about Hello Suckers and the Linda Lovelace movie.

I'd say there's no need to ask about the upcoming album; everyone will find out about that in good time and she'll no doubt have something to say on it anyway without needing any prompting.

I say go for:

- she's already spoken about her money troubles before and the fact that it was being investigated. was there a positive outcome and has the issue been put to rest?
- disillusionment of her fans (particularly those of her former website, kittyradio!) as a result of her legal/drug troubles of the past few years. how does she intend to earn back their respect?
- her plans for the film side of things. it seems to have been a while since she's done anything; does she fear that she might have difficulty in getting roles now?

I agree with what someone else said: be respectful but go for the kill. It's too easy to let her go on a Dave Grohl-related bitch sesh.
