| | 2Pac 10 Year Anniversary thread. On September 13th 1996 2Pac had succumbed to his bullet wounds & died, & Gen-X had lost its final hero. Like Kurt Cobain, a man like 2Pac comes once every so often, a man who is a lyrical & musical genius who also has a message, who is sincere, who is passionate.
I have a feeling not a lot of people here are into rap but that’s irrelevant because 2Pac spoke so many truths, & was not afraid to speak his mind at all! He was so passionate & is still today the highest selling rap artist of all time & it's not hard to see why, so I hope people will leave nice comments about him.
There are so many "rappers" out there today (& I'm not even going to sully this thread with their names) that are just a joke! Their just an insincere marketing tool that only appeal to children.
We miss ya Pac, but your spirit will always live on thru your music.
Some great videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q79eDD-z8A
Changes: touching lyrics, awsome melody. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37wSwAJ98Zk
California Love: all about a good time to a rad beat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkoW6XJOtsE
Do for love: EVERYONE relates to this! Great lyrics & cool, COOL bass beat.

| | What the hell is wrong with you people?! Wow... I can't believe that almost no one replied to this thread, for shame KR.
Do people even care about passion or talent anymore? Do they care about people who are sincere & stick up for the little guy? It seems like all people like to do is forget & not give it up for those who deserve it, & download crap music & fall prey to stupid trends that are completely LAUGHABLE & FORGETABLE like all the previous crap trends before them! |

| | | Tupac had his share of flaws, but he also had soul.
I actually finally caught "Tupac: Resurrection" on VH1 recently, and I loved it.
He had more like...layers to his fucking personality than anyone else in hip hop I can think of. |

| | | Most peeps probably just dont like rap. I dont like it myself, but the man was a talented artist for his genre. Most people here however would prefer discussing the intricate details of the lifestyles of those who are puppets within the music industry, and those who actually dont have any talent, or do anything at all cred worthy in gaining their fortunes. Hence why Paris Hilton and Lohan among so many others are discussed widely up in here. |

| | everyone knows he was the rapper of rappers. but people who havent listened more carefully, some of them dont know how SMART this guy was. well read, very informed, quick thinker, and he had alot of ideaas about how to practically work on some of the socio- economic problems in america. in any other circumstances, this is someone who would have been a yale grad.
then he would have burned the place down for their eltist hypocrisy
long live tupac. |

Do you not see the hypocrisy in criticizing others you feel are superficial yet having boobs in your avatar? You're obsessed with boobs. What talent do they have that is so worthy of your admiration?

That's just a physicality thing that doesnt really matter. I happen to like boobs, but every girl has them. Boobs are harmless. I oppose people who just go in to something without any dedication, but have evrything handed to them on a silver platter beforehand and then actually consider themselves an artist or someone respectable in their field. Watching Paris Hilton get a contract in the music industry because of who she is, depsite her serious lack of any sort of talent is rather annoying. And it's really confusing, as people will really buy just about anything these days, and I cant help but think why they would want to waste the money. That, to me, is not harmless, to the music industry anyways.
PS..boobs have the ability to secrete milk. Thus babies can be nourished.
That is more than I can say for some of the names I mentioned. |

| | | One of the boys in my Year 11 English class did a research assignment recently where he tried to prove that Tupac is still alive. He believes he succeeded, but he may find differently when he gets the results back.

| | i didnt see this thread before, but thanks for making it. i think tupac deserves every ounce of respect he gets, and more.
i cant believe it's been 10 yrs already, wow. we used to listen to him in high school, even when i wasnt into rap as much as i am now, never back then did i imagine he'd die so young, regardless of the turmoil in his life. it was indeed a huge shock when he died, i actually felt the effect of it more than i did when kurt died. i actually remember being surprised about how much it effected me.
i think his message and words have not only stood the test of time, but they're actually more potent and meaningful now. our culture has only gotten worse since his heyday, and the issues he cared about need a voice now more than ever. even though he's passed, i think his voice is more fitting than almost anyone else's. he was genuine, smart, sensitive, and he knew his peers, his culture and the youth at the time. basically, he was teh real deal. and not just some 'thug' rapper that idiots who never actually give rap a real listen would like you to believe.
besides, he was the most talented rapper of his time. ever, imo. he had the greatest voice, the best beats, the most energy. i cant believe what they're calling rap these days. tupac is king |
