I'm going through this bizarre phase of being totally obsessed with Dale Crover's drumming, even the couple of Nirvana tracks he drummed on. A drummer friend of mine told me he apparently used to hit the drums so hard, he'd have to wear gardening gloves to protect his hands.
If you don't know the Melvins, I recommend Houdini as a good place to start from. I've been listening to it a hell of a lot - Honey Bucket just has to be one of the most downright goddamn awesome rock tunes created.
Anyone had a chance to hear their new album yet at all? I know it's not officially out over here til October, but apparently it's been leaked quite a bit, and it's been getting mixed, but mainly positive reviews. They're actually using two drummers on this record, and apparently their bassist does some lead vocal as well, so I'm kinda looking forward to it arriving.
