I'm so bad at it. I don't spend more than I earn, but I'm meant to put a bit of it aside each week for things that I know I'm going to need to pay for in the near future (car tax, petrol, that sort of thing) and then I end up spending it all anyway. Plus I don't really keep track of how much I'm spending, and I don't realise how much it all adds up. I'll check my balance every couple of weeks and be like "fuck me! where's all the money? how did that happen?!"

yeah. its a case of never wanting to be poor/scared about money ever again. i always make sure i've got the 3k a year for an ISA, I probably save up about £1500 each year out of a £3500 income...and always make sure I have £400 in my current account incase I have to fork out the excess on my car insurance.
sometimes i go on freak shopping sprees and then MAKE myself sell things on ebay. i'm so scared of money and never being able to afford a house like my brothers.

That sounds spookily like me, out of my income i usually try to save around a quatre of that or less straight into a ISA, the interest you get on that is astounding so it really pays off. I also don't like to have less than around £250 in my current account just for things that might need paying for immediately.
