I was thinking about buying a new place, in Amsterdam, something that's not 100 years old and makes noises.

I would like your input on property, if that's OK.

I'm going to see my bank manager in the next week to get an idea of what kind of price range I am looking at, but I think it's going to be between 200 and 300 k euros.

At the moment, I am looking in a place called Ijburg, it's been recovered from the water, and is a little bit outside the center of Amsterdam, but it's peaceful. Also, all the houses are new.

This one is in a great location, but smaller. Parking place is more expensive also, but quite cheap compared to buying a separate space in the area.

Huis te koop: Gravenland 15 1111 SK Diemen [funda]

That one is a proper grown ups house. Three bedrooms, but outside the center, and I suspect a pain to get into the center. I will investigate this further.

I think you are right.

In this market though, maybe I should be looking in a higher price bracket, then making offers within mine. You never know.

yeah, that's a pretty piece of property. i love the windows, and i just prefer water (which is why im on a mountain in the middle of a desert ).
