It's super ****ty when one person brings the whole stack of cards down. I was in a flat like that once, but we managed to get power back on and were all "**** it, we'll live without a phone". And this before cellphones were truly widespread. We made such a sacrifice. And enacted terrible vengeance on the guy who ****ed us over. I still have about a hundred of his records. Some are rather good!

Wow, sounds harsh. The whole roomate/group living thing gets so messed up. Just takes one inconsiderate dickhead to ruin it for everyone.
Once we were interested in a place but it was no pets (had one dog at the time). We offered an additional damage deposit on her and the landlord went for it. Maybe you could offer that on Lenny?
