Big quick decisions

Have any of you experieced something like a job offer or something that has forced you to pack up and move away very quickly? Or even just being forced to make some kind of decision really quickly?

I finished uni at the end of march, qualified as a highschool teacher... haha . it was stupid not only because i am obviously now forced to work with teenagers, but also because there are almost no jobs available near me. Since then, in the obligatory post-university fashion, i have been sitting on my *** enjoying unemployment (well, minimal employment) far too much, and seeking only casual work.

Then.... this afternoon i recieved a very unexpected phone call offering me a full time teaching job in a country town 2 hours away. they provide accomodation, and im locked in for only 6 months.

So, tonight i get to decide if i want to leave my ****ty home town of 22 years and live in a country town for the rest of the year... and do a job im not sure i want to do. Holy ****?

Awesome! Congratulations.

Do it, of course.

DO IT! They cover the accommodation, you can go home on weekends then?
Also it's only 6 months. What do you teach?

ill be teaching senior english, which is pretty alright really, classes are small and the proximity is a bonus. i live in queensland a BIG state- so i could potentially have been offered a job 15 hours away.

AHHHHHHHHH. i think ill do it. my only major concern is leaving my little dog with my family

but then i can go to the spring fair and see clydesdales and tractors and sample the top quality beetroot.

This kind of thing drives me crazy, actually any kind of decision making drives me crazy.

It's great that it's only 6 months, a pretty good trial run to see if you like this type of job. Good luck with it, I hope you really like it
