I know, it's a ghastly thought, I only anticipated being out of work for a few months at the most. Maybe if there aren't any "real" jobs going later in the year, looking into Christmas jobs might be a feasible option - having to go through the rigmarole of signing on again in the New Year is a monumental hassle but the upshot would be that it would delay you another full year from having to do the Work Programme -in the very worst case scenario a tangible employment opportunity hasn't materialised by then, that is.
I'm seriously thinking of looking at a career in welfare rights advisory, I think I have a knack for this, being up against the wall and having to navigate my way through the minefield of the welfare system, I think I'd like the sort of job where I can point people who are genuinely in need in the right direction.
