No offense, but I'd blame it on the type of parents who send their kids to private christian schools before I'd blame it on the schools themselves. If it's for a superior education that's one thing but usually they just want them out of the "harmful" secular environment. At least, that's what I've noticed.

my state school was full of groovy fuckers, but we were academically lazy and not pushed at all. none of the force feeding 13 year olds cultural and intellectual sophistication that i would like to believe goes on at the better uk public (means private) schools. i'd also like to believe that american private schools are all something like rushmore

Me too. That was like a proper lovely academy.

I went to a public school and it was okay. I didn't enjoy myself. But I think it would have been worse if I went to a private school. Not that I could have afforded it anyway.

I think private schools are kind of a waste of money--it's not like it matters the slightest in the long run or even at university.

i met some really interesting people during highschool and also went through from year 3 to 12 with alot of the same people. i preferred it at private school, i got bullied when i was in a state school cos it was full of hicks that thought my mum was a hippie and a witch. and i mean it wasnt just for rich folk, there were heaps of families that were in supported programmes so they could send theyre kids there. it wasnt an exclusive snob one like in the cities, and he nuns that were still there were nice.
i dont think im that boring hahaha

i went to a selective school, so i guess that counts me as public. i'm glad i went there, i think there was the relaxed environment of public schools as well a good "learning environment". we didn't think of ourselves as any different to any other public school, except when we all aced our final exams and realised there was a reason we all went to a selective school... turns out we were all intellectual wankers after all! seriously though, there's a girl at my work who epitomises the private school stereotype. she once said that she's predisposed to thinking she's better than everyone, and she doesn't think she'd be as into her boyfriend is he hadn't done modelling and didn't have money. i just laughed. the other day she was telling me about her round the world travels and the trip she's going on in a few weeks - i told her about my holidays plans which include a music festival and roadtrip with friends from school... she asked if we're sleeping in the back of a ute. it's not far from the truth, but she obviously thinks a lot of me! i'm sure most people who've gone to private schools aren't like that, although i'm certainly glad i didn't share my high school experience with people like her. i reckon i have more fun anyway
