No matter where you go, though...the cheap places are crummy, the expensive places are nice but no one actually has any money for the nice ones so they are stuck living at home til they are 26 like me or moving out and living in some craphole apartment. While I hate living with my parents, at least we live in a nice place.

That's not entirely true. There are towns/cities where you can get a lot more for the same money, unless Aus is massively different from England. I'm moving specifically because, if I stay in this town, I can't afford anything that really compares to living with my folks, but elsewhere I can.

If you actually want to live in a city it is expensive everywhere here... and noone wants to live in a small town.. not even the people that live there. You could go live 6 hours inland and rent a cheap, nice house but you'd stil l be in some fuckhole like "Orange" or "Dubbo".

well in Queensland, if you move to a small town.. they're generally a mining town, and have even more fucking money and job shortages..
