| Students & money matters I made a thread before about my intentions to return to education and I'm now pretty dedicated to going through with it, commencing in the autumn. I've got things fairly well mapped out in terms of how I want to approach it all but the one thing I'm finding unpredicable (and god knows I worry enough about it) is the money side of things.
I suppose the whole money deal can vary wildly depending on your location, what you're entitled to in loans/bursaries, and what kind of accommodation you take on. But, just so I can get an vague idea, how do the students here keep afloat with money:
- do you do part time work? if so, how many hours a week?
- do you get student loans or bursaries?
- do your parents/family give you any support?
- do you rely on credit cards, overdrafts, etc?
- do you feel your income is enough to cover your outgoings?
I'm not really interested in the specific amounts of money you've got coming in and going out, I'd just like an idea of how people (mis?)manage their cash as a student.
