I have herd my boss complain he cannot find a babysitter a few times now, and then yesterday my dentist was saying the same thing too. I love to baby-sit and willing to do it in my spare time for the money. I have really great past references, like running a nursery at a church for 4 years, and babysitting since I was like 12. So should I offer to baby-sit for them? Or is it just to odd of a relationship? And what is the going rate right now for it? Last I remember was asking for $10 per hour if one child, and $15 per hour if two?

I would "up" the price considerably. Bosses deserve no favours (especially finanical ones), and dentists rape the fuck out of peoples bank accounts and are filthy rich.

Its not that weird at all. Just mention to them next time that you love kids and would be interested in babysitting. Maybe wait to see how much they offer you rather then setting your rates.
