This morning when I was brushing my teeth I saw a small puddle of water on the floor...then after a minute or so I saw it was spreading..no clue where its coming from. I think maybe the bottom of the toilet.
I went to call the landlord and of course my phone is broken So then I'm knocking on the upstairs neighbors door to get her number and they dont answer. I finally find my lease with her # after almost an hour..get to work and call her 50 times..finally she answers and says "I'll TRY to get this taken care of soon..I cant leave work...the maintenance man will TRY to stop by on his lunchbreak.."
WTF. My apartment could have a foot of water by now Grrr I'm so mad...I dread going home

My landlord is awful. It took her over 4 months to get an outside light put in so I could actually SEE walking to my door at night. I cant wait to find a new place. Dont know what the point of this thread is, but surely someone else can complain about THEIR shitty landlord so I wont feel so bad.

Well I hope you're not drowning by now, but if it helps here it goes. Have you shut off the water valves behind your toilet and sink? Turn them to the right and it should stop the flow, if it is clear water.

You have a slumlord (as you obviously know), report them to the city housing department. Try to find a renters advocacy group in your area, they will help you navigate the landlord/tenant laws.

If you have any more issues with your place, please PM me. My mom is an architect/builder and I have grown up around building houses, I know how to fix the problems that come with them (ok, I can't tell you how to rewire the place, but I can tell you how to handle most everything else).
