is it weird to live at home after college?

I want to be a teacher and in four years i will be able to do that. I also want to get married around then also but after talking to my dad, i think it might be better to just live at home for a few more years to save my money before getting married. I think I will go absolutely crazy but I don't see how else I will be able to survive. I don't really want to live at home for that long and i also want to get married but I just don't think there will be enough money. Does anybody have a real job and live at home? How do you feel about it?

I don't at the moment (I'm doing a masters and living at home), but I did have a proper job and live at home between school and uni (before going off travelling) and whilst it was dull it was managable because I have a liberal parent. Lots of my friends are doing it now though, and my sister, whose 24, still lives with my dad. Its just impossible to get on the property ladder in London unless you are earning SHIT loads.

I looked it up a bit and i think it might be a little common. I just want my independence and the thought of living at home while i have a real job makes me uneasy... I live in new jersey and theres no way i would be able to even afford an apartment along with bills and car insurance... At least if i do it this way i could spend more time with my sister who is 5 and her life moves way fast and i'd hate to miss it. I think maybe i'll live at home for a few years i suppose

ugh... 6 or seven more years of this. i don't know how people do it

Most of my friends currently live at home. Most of them have moved out and gone back. I think it's more common than people think, especially in more urban areas. I lived in a smallish town with my parents and had a full time job and most people there thought that was insane because i was like 21. I live on my own now in the city and people in their twenties (or older even) living with their parents isn't unusual at all.

It's not wierd at all, if by wierd you mean uncommon. I know so many people who are in their early to mid 20s and still live with their parents. It's extremely common these days, with skyrocketing rent prices and housing costs. If you can tolerate living with your parents, then it's a good way to save money. There's nothing necessarily wrong with it.
