Transition from full time work to full time school.

I have been working full-time for over 5 years and will be starting university in January 2007.

I am completely spoiled by my full-time salary and benefits and even though I mostly live paycheck to paycheck, my finances are in the black. I am terrified of frugality (ECCCH!) but see this as an investment that will eventually pay off and reward me with better career options and higher salary potential.

The transition is going to be tough. I am frightened I'll be living in ****ty apartments and eating noodles (eww) for the next 4 years.

Has anyone else made this transition?

How will you be able to afford no longer working full time? Are you going to be living with parents while you go to school?

I will work part time (two, maybe three days a week) in addition to school, but that will only cover so much. I am going to be heavily reliant on loans and other financial aid to cover tuition and living expenses.

I will be living with a roommate to save money and will not be receiving any significant financial assistance from my family. I'll consider myself lucky if they pay my phone bill every month. I love them to death but they aren't wealthy people.

I would give the roommate an occasional blow job and request they pay more in rent...
