Hank bottoms, but not in a femme way.
The girl I was friends with was very pretty, and had full sleeve tats back in 1990... before EVERYONE and their mom had them. She worked for a house in NYC (S&M only, no penetration, so no, no dildos up the wazoo). He deals with his child abuse issues with BDSM... didn't put it out there like it's some sort of icky thing (used to be penpals and hang out with Henry long time ago, he's a very nice person and is not some macho asshole). Many people in this community deal with their shitty childhoods and control issues by playing out different scenes.
As for Martha Plimpton: lived on the Upper Westside of NYC in the early 90s (I'll leave the address out). She was a friendly neighbor to my brother-in-law, lived in the same apartment building as him, and usually didn't wear any sort of makeup or hats-and-sunglasses bullshit. He of course had a major crush on her (smart gal great actress). They used to say hi to each other in the lobby, and she was apparently a vegan (so was he) so they ended up in some of the same restaurants in the area at the same time. She LOVED her dog... a black Lab.
Oh, and a good friend of mine who was soundman for Maxwell's in Hoboken let the Replacements stay in his apartment one weekend in the early 80s. Big mistake. Cigarette burns, empty beerbottles, and "hairspray cobwebs" (?) all over the ceiling. But he did say he had a great time with them. Same friend told me Bob Mould was gay YEARS before he came out (knew him, Bob lived in Hoboken at the time... I of course wanted to cook him dinner, and my friend was like,"well, make sure you make enough for him and his boyfriend."
Which was fine with me, because I love Bob in a Platonic way (he is one of my heroes).
My ex-boyfriend got hit on by Rob Halford backstage at a Judas Priest concert years before Rob came out. When he told me, I DIDN'T BELIEVE HIM!!!
Okay, I don't know why...
