| It's funny to see everyone bagging Christina Aguilera on this forum.
I think everyone should giver a break; I mean, she was only a teen when she did her first record. I would HOPE that she would go through changes in her image since then.
Comparing her to Madonna is ridiculous. Madonna is the queen of pop, everyone knows that. I don't think it's a problem for Christina to be inspired by her during her development as a singer and pop star.
Comparing her to Britney was perhaps natural a long time ago, when their images and status was similar, but now the two are worlds apart; Yes, Britney gets more press (and not for her music, for her popping out babies and her questionable husband). Yes, she has sold more albums in an industry that is now catering to the lowest common denometer; The same way that Britney or even Paris Hilton will sell more albums than artists like Bjork or PJ Harvey. There are exceptions of course, but this is what generally happens.
Christina can sing. She has stage presence. She's young. We'll see what happens. |
