Do you know, the media coverage of the eventual breakdown of the Price/Reid union reminded me, oddly enough, of the mid 90's, where there was near-hourly coverage of the state of affairs surrounding the marriage of the Prince and Princess of Wales. I really was hoping for some sort of official statement from David Cameron and Nick Clegg.
In actual fact, I'm pretty "Team Alex" on this. I think he obviously loved her and she couldn't cope with him attempting to have a career on his own merits. I too used to think of him as a ****tard but after seeing that reality show, my opinion definitely softened. Granted, he's not exactly Aristotle but he came across as someone who thinks a lot (don't laugh, in print I know how ridic that sounds, however..) and is trying to make a go of life. Like Peter, he deserves credit for taking on the responsibility of what is a ready-made family, including a toddler with severe developmental issues.
I know Jordan/Katie/whatever-persona-she's-sorting-this-month has alluded to abuse issues in her childhood so I kind of admired her steeliness in promoting herself as a brand, but her public slagging off of Pete sent her spiralling down in my estimation. Again, Pete took on a ready made family and obviously adored those children, so Jordan really could have handled that split with a bit of decorum, methinks.
BTW, Peter Andre is back in the news in the past few weeks, bort. He's now in a relationship with Elen Reves (Frank Lampard's ex). She's recently declined to appear in Peter's reality programme as she wants their private life to remain "private", which is kind of admirable, really.
