yes he did have a good enough run all these years. it's strange though..everytime i heard about him i'd think..."damn he's got a good thing going" in almost a mythical sense as this guy fleed the law and seemed to have been in the clear for the rest of his life. it's weird that now in his 70s they got him. but if he did something naughty then he deserves whatever he gets.

A documentary was done, which was fascinating. Everyone involved in this acted stupidly. The girls mother was very Dina Lohan-esque. They asked for money from him before charges were made. The mother put the girl in this situation with him. She could've been charged with neglect. The legal process was very long ongoing. It's not like he banged her then bounced. He pled guilty and he served time. You got a corrupt judge with a shady agenda for fame. It was only after the judge reneged on the original agreed upon sentenance that Polansky fled. I don't think he's a peodophile, just a sleaze. The girl states in this documentary that the legal process was far more traumitzing than the sex. He gave her a huge cash settlement - she wants the whole dropped now.

I don't think he should be put away for life for it - but the way hollywood and france idolize him is wrong too.
