you are. if you had actually read my damn post you wouldn't still be ranting the way you are about people not caring about the victim. do you need me to break it down for you with analogies and examples?
so, in your opinion, any time the victim says they want the charges dropped, we should automatically comply? forget the fact that this guy violated the law again for fleeing and should still be prosecuted for it (which has nothing to do with the victim, but hey, maybe she can get him off for that one too!).
domestic violence cases, girlfriend/wife says...."nah, that's alright, i don't need to press charges"...prosecutor says, okie dokie.
rape cases, victim says..."i don't want to live through it again, i don't want to testify"...prosecutor says, okie dokie.
alrighty then, those victims said leave it alone. who cares if a) said persons go out and do it again to someone else, b) this sets legal precedence and other people use it and threaten the victims (or pay them large sums of money!) so they will also say "nah never mind" forcing the prosecutor to drop the case (because hey! they did it in the past!!)...
do you really not see how this impacts the justice system as a whole and thus other victims? or do you want to continue with your tunnel vision and assume it's all about one person?
and btw, fire and brimstone works for me because I like to
read exactly what people write and respond accordingly.
