Katona made bankrupt over tax bill

Kerry Katona lost a race against time over a tax bill and was made bankrupt at a High Court hearing.

The former Atomic Kitten star reduced her £417,000 tax bill to £82,000 but HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) insisted on pressing ahead with the bankruptcy petition first issued in January.

Mr Registrar Nicholls agreed to make the order after giving 27-year-old Katona a final hour to come up with the balance.

Luke Harris, representing Katona who was not in court, asked the registrar to put the matter back, saying funds were available but cheques had not been cleared.

Mr Harris said as soon as the money was ready, it would be brought to the court and given to Mike Thomas, the lawyer representing HMRC.

But the registrar called the parties back into the court and Mr Harris said he was "not in a position to assist further".

Because having a freeloading husband that used to drive taxis for a living and looks like a member of the BNP, likes spending her benjamins like there's no tomorrow.
I actually feel really bad for her, she doesn't look as healthy or as happy as she used to. And her appearances on Loose Women and other tv shows have dried up entirely.
Not to mention the fact that she clearly hasn't got over the heartbreak of losing Brian Mcfadden to the much more elegant, classy and talented Dleta Goodrem.
I've never particularly liked Kerry Katona but at the same time, it's not nice to see her spiralling into a meltdown over the years. Even her own family sell stories on her for cash, it's pitiful.
Plus she's a mother and her poor kids need a stable environment to grow up in.
That awful reality tv show on mtv about her and that bad excuse for her partner proved that he treats her like ****. I could only bear to watch one episode, he was vile and literally spent an entire week shouting at her and spending her money (credit?!) on booze and cars.
Watch him drop her like a hot potato after this.

You would be suprised how much in debt celebrities are. My friend works for a large bank within their premier accounts department and often makes me feel better about my financial situation with stories of celebrities who have a perminently maxed out 50,000 overdraft ahem Gail Porter.
