they did not have photoshop back then, that's not a new cover, that's a 70's early 80's cover.

And everyone who have seen her always talks about the violet eyes, they all can't be lying. Her eyes mostly look blue or green in pictures but sometimes it's hard to capture the real color of something in pictures and when I saw this one I was like this must be it, this must be the real color of her eyes.

OMFG... of course she has violet eyes. Photoshopping has nothing to do with it. She was just lucky enough to end up with that beautiful combo of blue and green at birth.

A friend of mine was accidentally poked in the eye by a cigarrette her father was holding which made one of her eyes have a spash of violet in it.

Liz got her violet painlessly.

retouching has existed since the birth of photography. However, before photoshop it wasn't as sophisticaded or fast so I really doubt the magazine would go to the trouble of manually altering liz taylor's eyes in order to continue a "myth". There's no myth, her eyes are violet.

I also read that it happens when the iris has few melanin, and the eye color on the surface(in this case blue) because somewhat transparent and "mixes" with the color of the second layer(red) and gives the appearance of violet eyes.

I suppose because it was more difficult back then?? and to be honest I like her wrinkles. She must've been like 50 at the time and that's how 50 year old women look like, they have wrinkles.
