i was listening to adam corolla this morning (because i like him better than stern anyday) and david spade was the guest and he was saying that people used to give Chris Farley drugs and alcohol in abundance all the time because then there'd be a Chris Farley story to tell you know? But then after a story would happen, the same people who gave him the drugs and alcohol would be like "i can't believe that happened. it's just outrageous"
Artie's schtick on the stern show was heavily influenced by drugs/alcohol and him flying off the handle. it was for the most part encouraged. so for stern to be like "fuck off" at this, and act like he was fucking shocked (even though what he did was kind of shocking) it's kind of cuntswabby to do. not that him being an assface is surprising either.
Yes I agree that his behavior was encouraged in the past. Thats CLEARLY why Stern brought him in from the hallway. He knew it would be dramatic, and it was.
BUT I think it went too far. The staff should have escorted Artie's assistant out of the room. Clearly something was about to go down.
I'd sue his ass up and down. Hope he gets whats coming to him.
I think it was clearly staged. It happened on a thurs (they dont broadcast on friday anymore) and they have the next week off. It feels like a cliffhanger incident.
^thats what people are saying but it doesnt sound that way to me. hes attacked 2 other people in the last 5 months. stern already has loyal fans...and i highly doubt people are going to rush out and purchase sirius over this.
I've been avoiding Stern, cause I was half-expecting something like this for a while. Artie was going to derail sooner or later. I love the guy, but maybe he needs to go away for a while. He's always teetering at the edge of death, and the show is depressing to listen to. He's like a chubby Amy Winehouse, only with a smaller penis.
If Artie doesn't come back, they should get Colin Quinn. He's a mess, and he's funny as shit.

Artie's behavior is not suprising. Did anyone see when Jessica Biel was on Conan O'Brien last year to promote I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry? Artie was the guest after she left and he would not shut up about how he wanted to have sex with her and even when Conan would try to keep Artie on track in the conversation, he'd keep going back to making crude remarks about Jessica. Conan was clearly uncomfortable, and Artie looked awful; more overweight than usual and looked as though he hadn't slept for months.
