i nominate wendy. kurts MOTHER to help. she doesn't have a public life all her own to deal with and she's already proven time and time again to only have frances' interests in mind. drew fucking barrymore? so what she was corkys bff 14 yrs ago. god mother means nothing in the eyes of the law. who cares if she's frannies godmother. she hasn't had anything to do with her. get over it.

| | | Oh turtle, it's so nice to see you pay so much attention to my posts.
Maybe if you're someone's designated godmother (or shit, her godfather, Michael Stipe), you do something for the kid.
As far as Kurt's mom... yeah, she was a great mother as well.

| | | ^^^ i do tend to notice when something has been repeated far too often, yes.
and yes, a godmother is supposed to help in the rearing of a child, but well, drew hasn't. maybe not by choice, but i'm pretty sure she hasn't a clue as to what's been going on in frannies life. and frances herself spoke very highly of wendy. and while no she was not the best MOTHER, according to frances herself, she's been one hell of a GRANDMOTHER.
or even better lets hope frannie can pull it all back herself when she comes of age. that is of course if her whole fortune hasn't been stolen by strangers or other sorts.

Hilarious that the rest of my post and the points I made were somehow missed by you... but let's focus on godparents, eh? Or whether Wendy O'Connor should be running the show (I mean, shit, I'd kick my son out of the house and let him live under a bridge... that's just tough love).
Go back and read the rest, nimrod.
And while you're at it, go read all the new Queenie rants... then find someone here who can give you the old ones to read.

nothing was missed. ur drew barrymore crap is just getting old. and i was only using wendy because when it came to frances she has always been there. she pretty much raised the girl. according to the harpers bazaar article frances respects her beyond even her own mother. do i think wendy has what it takes to make it all better, no but i do think she be a little more qualified, and a little more involved in the situation, and frances' life in general, and doing what is right for her granddaughter than someone who hasn't had any connection to her in years and has her own tabloid drama to deal with.

| | | In all actuality I don't think she blew through $50 million in just 2 or so years. But I am sure she spent a lot of it.
A home is part of your net worth. Even if she paid $20 million on a home (which I doubt she did), she can get it back when she sells it..or at least most of it, assuming the house is in good condition and the market is in her favor.
I wonder how much she's blown through already. It seems everything she does is so grand. I hope she is saving for her rip old age when no one will care who the fuck she is. But I guess theres always the nirvana catalogue. Geeez. Must be nice. |

Hell, I would take a guess that she probably knows best how to invest her money.

| | | ture. but my point is, in order to do that, teach the kid anything u have to have communication with her, and drew hasn't had anything to do with her for years. so no, she's not qualified cuz she doesn't know what the hell frances wants.

| | | Last Drew Barrymore Thingie, Turtle!!! The money for the 25% of the Nirvana catalogue got TAXED. I would guess after legal expenses and taxes, FRANCES probably saw about half of that go to her trust fund.
So... Queenie blows thru 20 mil in 2 years. Depending on what she's bought (like $800,000 earrings, that right there is quite a bit) and what sort of legal wranglings she has going on and "paying for studio time" *giggle*...
... It could all be gone.
The poor fucking kid.
As for the subject, and my final statement re: Drew Godmommy - speaking as a godmother (I am, for three kids)... no matter what sort of situation you're in with a teenage god-daughter (I have a 16 year old one), you have agreed to be that person's advocate. If Drew Godmommy has no contact with Frannie, well, a new godparent (or guardian in the event of the death or incompetency of Queenie) does need to be established.
Wendy O'Connor is indeed not in the public eye. But that doesn't mean she's the go-to with something like emancipation or guardianship. I loved my grandmother, too, but she wasn't exactly competent to tie my shoes, although she did make a mean Miracle Whip on Wonderbread sammich when I was four.
How about Queenie's ex-stepfather, the one who Frances was in the custody of the last time Queenie cracked up and out?
I just know from my own personal experience that sometimes you don't talk to your godkids every day or even in months, but if you get that phonecall, you're there for them.
And if not, let's hope the kid knows enough to get herself emancipated without Godmommy. I mean, shit, she's supposed to be so intelligent and wise about the ways of fame and fortune (and who better to have as a lab rat to observe than Queenie?).
I do wonder what the heiress thinks of this current debacle. Is she actually sitting back and letting mommykins "crackbabble" her way out of being an executor/trustee? (hex object gets much respect for "crackbabble"). If so, she's a smart little girlie. I think that's what I'd do. It's a great chess move. Let your opponent dig their own grave.
Anyway, turtle, point taken, no more mentioning Drew Barrymore. |

Chyia, well amused | If one were to be disingenuous, they could theorise that Corky was such a maladjusted harridan that not only did she drive Kurt to fake his own death, she ultimately drove him to move to NJ. Now imagine if she were to harness her powers for "good"...
