I don't see many repeated harrassers of male celebrities unless they are with a female like Angelina and Brad.

So what is it about rich famous women that the press become stalkers and never leave them alone? Is it misogyny? Women are percieved as easy targets?

Is it because the public wants to see more women being followed than men?

I've read somewhere that pictures of women sell better than men. That's why there's always a cover picture of a woman in both men's and women's magazines.

I see the gossip magazine industry as a worldwide version of classic female gossip and I think women naturally gossip about other women more than men. As a result, the paparrazzi perfers women because gossip magazines really are targetted at women.

I can't speak with regards to them all, but Britney and Winehouse actively seek publicity and are in no way "harrassed". The real A-listers in Hollywood have as much privacy as they want.
